Thank you to everyone who donated to the Special Olympics Duck Race and to Filomena who always does such a wonderful job supporting us. This year, although we did not come in first place again, we did have two individual winners. Dan Melfi 70' and Robert & Phyllis Pisko (66). Each won a year's subscription to NY LOTTO. Everyone should be very proud. We have now donated over $15,000 to individual charities through our websites. I just wanted to thank everyone who contributed toys at Pietro's on Dec. 7th. On Saturday, Dec. 15th, over 70 volunteers showed up to wrap, tag and deliver toys and clothing to 150 children. The Lodi High School and Middle School ran their annual toy drives and students of the Key Club showed up Saturday to help us wrap. We can accomplish so much with your support. It's a great feeling to know that we are helping those right in our own back yard. Thanks again for your contributions and best wishes for a very happy and healthy holiday. CHERUB FOUNDATION - a non profit children's aid society P.O.Box 802 Lodi New Jersey 07644 Dear Friends of the Cherub Foundation: Just vision…………………piles of ripped wrapping paper on the floor, cardboard boxes and tissue paper tossed to the side, dolls in the arms of a little girl, a truck being pushed about by a little boy and teens trying on their new jeans and sneakers. This is what comes to our mind every Christmas morning as we imagine what it’s like in the homes we filled with Christmas presents for so many children. Children’s Christmas dreams do come true. They come true because of you. We distributed toys and clothing to 150 children this year with your help. Thank you for caring for those less fortunate. One Man's Thoughts, In the aftermath of Tuesday past, we have had an opportunity to think. We have had an opportunity to grieve, assist, and plan. All this continues, and will continue for some time, as we try to recover some of our heroes. As our President plans our course of action against these zealots, our citizenry has risen to heights never before seen in our generation. We have all been told of the spirit and atmosphere that permeated this country during WWII. Most of us came about, as baby boomers, right after the war. We have all been told by our parents how the country sacrificed, using rationing, and cooperation, to fight a war abroad. Our country functioned as one in time of need, so that individual liberties could be enjoyed in times of peace. I often felt uneasy about my generation, due to it's lack of experience in tough times. We have been fortunate in our lifetime, to not experience that kind of situation, fortunate that is, till now. In watching the days following this attack I have noticed a complete and total dedication to the cause at hand. Never have I seen this country so united in thought, and in deed. I spoke to Jan Fraser Duke, a classmate in Oklahoma, who spoke of such pain on the faces of the people there. They know, they all know, and feel every bit of pain. Being so close, she feared losses among our friends. We all feel this. Jimmy G's touching tribute to a personal friend, a man who gave his life to help others, is a perfect example of how this affects every single one of us. Cris Aur, daughter of our webmistress Filomena Matos-Aur, arrived at work at the site just as the events were unfolding. Fortunately, Cris is safe, safe as any of us are tonite. Jimmy Paul mentioned a Spirit in his wonderful piece. Truly, this is exactly what we have all been watching and participating with since last Tuesday. This spirit is one of the benefits of being an American. It is inbred, and although it may lay dormant at times, can be called up whenever needed. It is what we have exhibited since the event, and it will be what gets us through anything this world can throw at us. My heart goes out to all involved personally. I feel for our local missing, and continue to hope for their return. Keep your heads high folks! We will do just fine, as this America will continue to be the beacon of freedom and liberty for the entire world.

Wonderful Job Fil and Jimmy! A beautiful front page. For those of you who are unaware...A Classmate of mine, Angel Pena 73' has not been found yet. Our heart aches for his family, his brother Alex 71' and his friends. Another Classmate Rosann Parisi 74' cannot find her husband Salvatore Zisa of Hawthorne, and another boy from LHS, John Perconti is amongst the missing --He is the son in law of Linda Lazarro 72'and I believe Timmy Fallon. We need to pull together at this time and help support organizations such as the Red Cross, the United Way etc. Just this morning I collected baked goods for the NYC Police Officers volunteering their time in the rescue efforts. Your classmate Frank Grauso generously donated fresh bagels to serve them for breakfast along with his future services. I May be collecting again in the future weeks and if you are interested in donating baked goods, email me. I hope to have a lot of chuckles recalling the good times we all had as I sign in from time to time and see the additions you have made. Moreover, I will also fondly remember those who have left us. The tribute to Tony Grau was quite moving. Thanks for having me to your 30th reunion in November. It was fantastic seeing so many old friends, recalling days long gone and seeing how well the years have treated everyone physically, ideologically, financially, socially, etc. Thanks to all of the Class of 70 for your hospitality and sharing your evening with my wife and me.
